Ausable Chasm, near Plattsburgh NY, used to be more famous than it is. Now it is outcompeted by places with better advertising, and it is pretty remote from most New Englanders, but it is a spectacular view with plenty of trails down to and along the water.
It is an easy drive from Burlington and the Champlain Valley.
