Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National ParkIt's a long way to Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, but it's worth the trip for the breathtaking scenery. Pike's Peak is 10 times as high as Cadillac Mountain, but it has one one-hundredth the view.

If you go directly up from Bar Harbor, you can get to the road to the summit with no charge. If you go through the National Park entrances, they charge something like $22/car. You get to drive the Loop Road and seeother things to make a day of it, but IMO that's all icing on the cake.

I think everyone in New England should visit Cadillac Mountain at least once.
