Milbridge is a nice little town, barely more than a wide spot in Route 1 east of Ellsworth en route to Machias and Eastport. It is the local market center, such as it is, for a number of even smaller villages far from the hustle and bustle of Boston, Portland, Bangor, and even Ellsworth. It's a peaceful place to go for a drive.
