Pittsfield

Pittsfield centerPittsfield, MA is known throughout New England as one more declining mill town with a particularly unfortunate name. The truth is much happier.

Pittsfield is a major crossroads of the Berkshires, at the junction of Routes 20, 7, and 9. These roads come together in the center at a pretty common shown here.

Pittsfield has an active arts community, and it supports a craft brewery (Wandering Star), and independent-league baseball team, and more. It combines affordability with proximity to the wealthier enclaves at Lenox and Williamstown, plus easy access to the natural beauty of the Berkshires.
