South Berwick, Maine is a pretty, friendly little town on the Salmon Falls River near the border of New Hampshire. It was the home of New England author Sarah Orne Jewett. (Her house is shown here, now owned by Historic New England and open for tours. Historic New England also owns the beautiful Hamilton House just outside of town.)

We really enjoyed the Nature's Way Market, Pepperland Cafe and Isidore on the Rocks Tavern, the Catered Event, and of course the annual Strawberry Festival.
