The Locke, Stock, and Barrel Gourmet Grocer on Route 7 in Great Barrington is my idea of destination shopping. The first time I walked in I saw a basket of fresh-picked Chicken-of-the-Woods mushrooms by the register and I knew I was in a good place.

They have an excellent selection of good wines, plus cheeses and an impressive array of charcuterie. They'll have Lorna's favorite marrons glacee for Christmas, but they also have homier fare such as Jacob's Cattle beans, Richmond's favorite for baking.
