Cape Cod Cook BookI really enjoy Suzanne Cary Gruver's . It's a humble Dover Publications edition on cheap paper, but the recipes are authentic and well-researched. They are not fancy cooking; this is old-time traditional maritime Yankee fare, with few seasonings and plenty of fish and common crackers. It pays close attention to the local, traditional foodways. Most recently I made a Sea Clam Pie and it came out really well. I will make that recipe again. I think it does good to get back to ethnic roots of all cultures, including old Yankee culture!
