Description
An old family favorite and perennial crowd-pleaser, I like these better than chocolate chip cookies. They're so homey and comforting!
Ingredients
| 1 | c | Unsalted Butter | | 3⁄4 | c | Dark Brown Sugar (firmly packed) | | 1⁄2 | c | Granulated Sugar | | 1 | t | Vanilla extract | | 2 | ea | Eggs | | 1 | c | white flour | | 1 | t | Baking Soda | | 1 | t | Cinnamon | | 1⁄2 | t | Salt | | 3 | c | Rolled Oats | | 1 | c | Raisins |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cream the butter with the sugars, vanilla, and eggs.
- Combine the flour, soda, cinnamon, and salt, and add the combined mixture to the butter mixture.
- Add oats and raisins and mix well.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 8-10 minutes or until done. Let cool for a minute on the cookie sheet before removing to a wire rack.
Notes
I like to use the Quaker old-fashioned oats. I like the texture better.
Sometimes I use golden raisins, or craisins.
