Apple PieThe original fall classic!

I like this best early in the season with Yellow Transparents, and late in the season with Northern Spy, Golden Russet, and Baldwin apples.  

Ingredients

3lbApples (Peeled, cored, and sliced)
2TButter (diced)
1TSugar
2TFlour
1tCinnamon
1tDemerara Sugar
1eaBasic Pie Crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Roll out bottom crust and line a pie plate with it.
  3. Toss sliced apples with flour-sugar-cinnamon mixture and diced butter.
  4. Lay top crust over the filling and crimp the edges together.
  5. Brush lightly with water and sprinkle Demerara Sugar on top.
  6. Bake about an hour. Let cool before cutting.

Notes

Combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Reserve the Demerara Sugar for decoration.
